Sex workers

Through VCSPA, ISDS is supporting sex workers to establish their own group – the first ever in Vietnam - and work out their own agenda aiming at protecting their rights and well-being.

In two years, 2009 and 2011, within the project on reducing HIV related stigma supported by PEPFAR, incollaboration with ICRW, ISDS has successfully developed a toolkit for guiding action to reduce stigma related to sex workers and HIV. Representatives of sex workers have actively involved in the process of development of the toolkit and sensitization workshops and trainings for police, staff of 05-06 centers, NGO and CBO workers in various provinces. The toolkit and training were highly appreciated by the participants who said to be encouraged to integrate stigma reduction activities in their work.

ISDS continue supporting those groups in Ha Noi, Vinh Phuc, Hai Duong, Vinh Long and Hung Yen through the Global Fund project.
