Sexual partners of drug users

ISDS is among the first organizations working with sexual partners of drug users, not only doing research on their HIV vulnerability, but to raise attention to this neglected population, and support them to build their own community. Through the project, ISDS strengthens capacity of a group of mostly female peer educators and encourage them to reach out to other women and build their own community. In less than 1 year, peer educators have reached more than 1,000 women who are wives of drug users. Small groups are being established among these women. ISDS is supporting them to meet and skills necessary to identify their issues and speak for themselves.

The Global Fund project, ISDS are continuing to work with this community in Hanoi, Vinh Phuc and Hai Duong, Vinh Long and Can Tho.
