ISDS’ activities include research, advocacy, public communication, and capacity-building for community. Professionally, ISDS’ works have broadened expansively into various fields, from gender, sexuality and sexual health to HIV/AIDS, internal and international migration, social protection for underprivileged populations, and civil society development.
About the Project
Despite the fact that feminist ideas and works have been introduced to Viet Nam for a long time, and feminist approach and methodology is increasingly applied in social development research during last decade, there is still a lot of misconceptions and negative reactions towards feminism not only among public, but also among research community. This gap is due to the absence of the systematic introduction of feminism and feminist perspectives in teaching, research and development institutions, playing a part in Viet Nam’s struggle in achieving gender equality despite strong commitment of the government and endless work from different stakeholders. The project aims at addressing the above gap, hence, contributing to influencing perceptions, creating a space for discussion, action and involving public in the conversations, seeing feminism as beneficial to all members of the society.
